West Dorset Wilding, Rewilding CIO

Website Project

After successfully completing the Brit Valley Project website, West Dorset Wilding asked us to enhance their existing charity website. As the parent organisation behind the Brit Valley Project, West Dorset Wilding plays a key role in restoring ecosystems and rewilding West Dorset. Our work involved improving their existing website to better reflect their mission and vision, focusing on nature restoration, regenerative agriculture, and community involvement. The site needed to be clear, informative, and user-friendly while conveying the charity's passion for restoring biodiversity in West Dorset and their ambitious plans for the future. The updated design streamlined the content and improved navigation, ensuring users could easily access the charity's various programmes, resources, and plans for the region.

“We have been really impressed with Yada’s professionalism, expertise and attention to detail. She has created a beautifully designed and effective new website for us, as well as revamping our existing site to a very high standard. Her responsiveness and creativity have also impressed, alongside a very competitive hourly rate. Highly recommended.”

The Website

For the West Dorset Wilding website project, we carried out an extensive audit and redesign process aimed at improving accessibility, simplifying navigation, and enhancing user engagement. A key part of the work involved consolidating pages, removing unnecessary pages and improving the design and layout of others for a more streamlined experience. We revamped the homepage to make it clearer and more professional, to improve visual consistency and ensuring that the Brit Valley Project was prominently featured as the organisation's current priority.

In terms of design, we made several adjustments to the typography, introducing a secondary font for captions and ensuring consistency with the brand's established style. We also made the website more user-friendly by simplifying complex pages, such as the Beavers and Brit Catchment Baseline sections, and transforming them into more interactive and engaging content. The membership and join-us sections were restructured to allow for easier comparison of options, and we improved the events page by converting it into a blog format for easier updates in the future. Throughout the redesign, we ensured the site remained true to West Dorset Wilding’s mission, highlighting their important work in landscape restoration and rewilding, while ensuring the site was accessible and easy to navigate.
